AMD Release dual-GPU Radeon Pro Duo for VR

Your Oculus Rift and/or HTC Vive order placed? Are you anxiously waiting for it to arrive? Yes, me too.

What video card do you plan to attach your shiny new VR? I certainly hope it is not a Radeon 9800!
How about a liquid cooled dual-GPU card called the AMD Radeon Pro Duo that AMD claims is the fastest VR GPU card available today?

The card is based on two Radeon R9 Fury GPUs jammed onto one card.
How much will all this graphics porn set you back? Wait for it… $1,500.

Before you choke on your vomit, at least, this is cheaper than the NVIDIA dual-GPU Titan Z, which launched at $3,000. Look at the bright side folks.

AMD has yet to release exact details on this card. We can expect similar performance to two Fury cards in Crossfire unless AMD throttles due to heating issues. AMD does claim the Radeon Pro Duo as having 16 TFLOPS of GPU power.

The specs of one R9 Fury X is as follows:

GPU CLOCK SPEEDUp to 1050 MHz
MEMORY BANDWIDTH512 GB/s
MEMORY INTERFACE4096-bit HBM
MEMORY AMOUNT4GB HBM
STREAM PROCESSING UNITS4096 (64 Compute Units)

So this will be one beast of a card for sure. How long do you have to save up for this beast? AMD states it should be available in Q2 of 2016.
