How would you like to explore the USS Eisenhower in VR? If you have an HTC Vive, Google Cardboard, Google Daydream then get ready!
The USS Eisenhower is the second of the ten Nimitz-class aircraft carriers currently in service today. With a displacement of over 100k tons and a length of 1,092 feet, the USS Eisenhower is something the everyday person cannot just pop in for a look.
The USA TODAY NETWORK partnered with the US Navy and developed the Eisenhower VR experience exclusively for Vive. The virtual reality and 360-degree interactive experience will let you watch jet launches, landings, drills, supply operations, and a flight in the cockpit of an F-18. Then you can explore deep into the ship and see the daily lives of the sailors, interviews with crew members from cooks to Captains, and even get a taste of barista training at one of the world’s largest floating cities.
I tried the HTC Vive version, it is certainly an excellent way to experience something I will never try in real life, so go ahead and try it!
