Beijing-based news site Sina is citing HTC suppliers who say HTC is working on a new slimmer version of the HTC Vive along with upgraded specifications.
Shipments of the second-generation HTC Vive 2.0 are expected to begin at the end of this year or early 2017. If these rumors end up being true, then amazingly this would mean the time to market for the gen 2.0 Vive will be less that one year from the Vive gen 1.0 released in April this year.
Likely the changes will include a lighter headset, improved ergonomics to compete with the accepted superior ergonomics of the Oculus Rift. Could we see improved Field of view (FOV) and increased screen resolution? Too early to say, but always hoping!
