Big day for Google and HTC today at Google I/O. Google announced that the Daydream platform is expanding to support a new category of VR devices, standalone headsets. The standalone headsets don’t need a phone or PC to power them, and they’re designed to be easy to use, comfortable, and immersive.

HTC and Lenovo are the first two companies working with Google to make standalone VR headsets powered by the Google Daydream platform.
