The Oculus Rift officially started shipping back in March. Plagued by shipping delays of 1-2 months of the Oculus premium headset, shipments to those who preordered their headset in January had to wait 1-2 months longer than the original target date.

Today, Oculus announced that all preorders have now shipped, and new orders placed at Oculus.com will ship in 2-4 business days.

Retail support for the Rift will expand into Microsoft stores and 500 Best Buy stores now through fall. Oculus had this to say regarding the delays:

We want to apologize for the delays in getting Rifts to doorsteps. We appreciate that without your support, VR wouldn't be where it is today. Thank you for your patience over the past few months.
Oculus Touch motion controllers are still on target for shipping later this year, and Oculus will share more about Touch and the 30+ launch titles at Oculus Connect 3, OC3.
