The Open Source Virtual Reality platform (OSVR) has the goal of creating standards for hardware and gaming in VR. That goal moved one step close when Valve added official support for OSVR hardware and software to the Steam platform.
Steam users can filter the Steam results to show OSVR-compatible content.
We are delighted to announce support for OSVR titles," said Valve’s Augusta Butlin. "Steam is an open platform for all developers, and adding support for OSVR further expands the massive content offerings for the millions of gamers on Steam.
Valve added an OSVR specific icon to quickly identify which games and applications adhere to the standard set by OSVR.
Steam is currently displaying only 15 OSVR titles when filtering on OSVR. However, we know this to not be correct as games such as Radial-G is not showing. Valve has some bug fixing to do.
