The alien “chest-burster” scene is one of the most terrifying Sci-Fi scenes ever. The original Alien movie, first released in 1979 (yeah, it is that old) and directed by Ridley Scott made the scene famous. The sequel in 1986 with Aliens was an equally good follow-up. The movies have lost some of their luster since. However, Ridley Scott is returning to the Alien franchise with Alien: Covenant, in theaters this May.
You can already play the game Alien Isolation via some file modifications today. The hack is not ideal but does make the game fully playable in VR. The feeling when you are first impaled from behind by the Alien is a pretty awesome experience!
David Karlak who has already created various shorts including Rise VR, The Section, and The Candidate is directing a VR experience around the release of Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant.
The studio describes the VR Experience as “a dread-inducing journey into the depths of the Alien universe. Viewers will discover the true meaning of terror as they navigate through horrifying alien environments and a story where every decision could mean the difference between life and death.”
Production for the Alien: Covenant VR experience began in December 2016 and will be ready in time for the movie.
